¿Qué es un seguro CAR?
El seguro CAR viene del inglés Construction All Risk, y en español es conocido como Todo Riesgo de Construcción. Este cubre los daños que ocurran a las obras de construcción como consecuencia de hechos accidentales e imprevisibles.
¿Cómo funciona y que cubre un seguro CAR
Este seguro se extiende a cubrir trabajos permanentes y temporales, incluidos materiales de construcción, mano de obra y otros que formen parte del contrato a asegurar y que formen parte integrante del monto asegurado declarado.

¿Cómo te protege el seguro?
¿Que no protege el seguro?
Embarcaciones y cualquier otro equipo flotante, vehículos automotores autorizados para transitar en vías públicas, aeronaves, así como a bienes de propiedad de obreros o empleados del ASEGURADO.
Dolo o negligencia grave del ASEGURADO o de sus representantes o responsables de la dirección técnica de la construcción.
Reacciones nucleares; radiación nuclear y contaminación radioactiva.
Daños sufridos durante el transporte de los bienes al sitio de la construcción, aún cuando tales daños sean advertidos posteriormente.
Pérdida o daño debido a cálculo o diseño erróneo.
Dinero, valores, planos o documentos.
Penalidades o sanciones impuestas al ASEGURADO por incumplimiento de los contratos de construcción de los bienes asegurados, así como por deficiencias o defectos de estética.
Daños o defectos de los bienes asegurados, existentes al iniciarse los trabajos de construcción.
Preguntas frecuentes
No, el espíritu de la cobertura es cubrir el inicio de la Construcción de una obra específica. No obstante, previo acuerdo entre la aseguradora podemos incluir esta cobertura como una condición especial.
Sí, previa notificación a la aseguradora, se sugiere un plazo mínimo de 15 días antes del vencimiento de la póliza emitida, a fin de que se confirme con la aseguradora la extensión de la cobertura contratada.
La póliza brinda cobertura en desde el inicio de la construcción hasta la entrega de la obra culminada, si durante la ejecución de obra sufre de paralizaciones, la póliza mantendrá cobertura activa sobre aquella construcción o bases que hayan sido ejecutadas hasta la fecha de suspensión, para mantener la cobertura activa es obligatorio notificar las paralizaciones, cambios de cronogramas, cambio de fecha de término entre otros, esto puede originar el cobro de prima adicional previo acuerdo entre las partes
